          Welcome to BETA Mountain's Fanfic Page.
          Not everyone looks for fanfic in the same manner. Heck, most people do it differently at different times, depending on what they're looking for. Sometimes you want to search by Author, sometimes by Title, sometimes by Subject matter, and sometimes by Type of story. Sometimes, all you need is a list without all the descriptions.
          And so, to better serve the reader, BETA Mountain is pleased to offer cross-indexing. Simply choose how you want to search, and the links will take you to the proper index format.
          Please Note: The back icon at the bottom of the actual fanfics will take you back to the Type index. If you wish to return to the index you used to find it, you'll need to use the "back" function on your browser.

          To further aid your search, new icons have been created. The Tweakers are now here to tell you what type of story you're looking at.

•           Pathfinder signals a chapter story or epic. From Novella to actual Novel, these are the stories you read sitting back with a cup of hot chocolate or tea in hand.
•           Tripwire signals a short story. Something you read sitting upright with soda or iced tea.
•           Firefly signals a Vignette or Short. These moments in GR time are best read with a box of chocolates at hand. Preferably liqueurs.
•           Lifeline signals both Filk and Song Fanfic. You shouldn't eat or drink anything for these, because you might want to sing them out loud.
•           Pixel signals the Oddball. The fanfic that doesn't fit into neat catagories, and the "not-quite fanfic". For these stories, you're on your own.

The Ratings

          These icons are at the upper left-hand corner of the fanfics. The ratings are determined by level of swearing, violence, and sexual situations. There are no NC-17 or XXX rated fics in this archive. Any that might appear in the future will be in a separate directory, not on the main fanfic pages. R-rated fics with very strong content come with additional warnings. Don't read anything you're not comfortable with, or old enough for.
