We're Back, and So Are the Rangers!
Yes, the site has been neglected horribly the last few years. Repairing and rewriting the pages is going to take some time. It will come back alive, eventually.

And as you've seen, if you came in from the frontpage, the Galaxy Rangers finally have a full series release on DVD. Volume 1 arrived on the Archive's doorstep yesterday, to be greeted with much joy and dancing. Volume 2 has been scheduled for an August 5th release, finishing the set.
Do not expect episodes or extensive video clips to be posted here. Larger and clearer screen captures are in the future, but we will not offer pirated content for what can be easily and legally purchased.

Press Release! Toys, Collectibles -- and NEW SHOWS???
Today, a fellow named HyperChild joined the Ranger-L Mailing List, and posted this press release. The site appears to be on the level, so I'm spreading the word as instructed. I promise to update promptly if there's any more news, or if this turns out to be a hoax, ect.
And two more DVDs will be released in April. Remember, if you order them through this site, the Bronto Bear gets few spare credits to keep the Archive ad-free. And yes, I will be updating again very soon.

          DVD Release!
Two months ago, the chatters in #galaxyrangers were approached by a fellow claiming to be in charge of the planned DVD release of the Galaxy Rangers from Koch. Being the jaded skeptics we are, we didn't jump up and down immediately. But he did seem to be on the level.

He was.

Today, June 23rd, 2004, the official press release hit the internet, confirming exactly what he told us. There will be a 2-disc "best of" release in October. If it sells well, they hope to release the entire set.

The full story can be found at:

Ladies, Gentlemen, and Slaverlords, time to bank a few credits for October. We're finally getting DVDs!!!!

Welcome to the grand reopening of the BETA Mountain Archives. Everything should be up and online now, and new fanfiction should follow shortly. There is also a new ratings system for the fanfic. But otherwise the format will remain the same as it was on FortuneCity.com.
To celebrate my move away from popups and ads, I am announcing open call on fanfic submissions. Before, my policy was to only archive stories that had been posted by their authors on Ranger-L. Now, you can send them directly to me by e-mail. Please keep any submissions under a meg in size, and send them in .txt (text) or .rtf (rich text format) only. I reserve the right to reject any submission for content or massive misspellings. I will correct those obvious typos I come across, but I don't proofread.
Make sure your return e-mail address is correct. If your addy bounces, the submission will be rejected out-of-hand. So will anything by "Anonymous". You don't have to give your real name, but you do have to give a name. One pseudonym per writer or artist.

A new Nav Bar and indexing system has been created. Also, a new page has been added: "Watching". This page contains information about GR on TV, Video, and DVD.

A new location, and no ads!
After several years of popup ads, login troubles, corrupted files, and other assorted nonsense, I decided to move here to Dreamstation. And after some further thought, I decided it was worth paying for a site to get greater storage and no ads.
Over the next few weeks, I will be transferring the BETA Mountain Archives, along with all my other scattered websites. Which means the frontpage will have considerably more stuff on it than an "enter here" for the Archive.

          A little story for y'all...
In the deepest depths of Time and Space, there exists a little cave. Not a cold, dank, scary cave, oh no! It's a warm, cozy, well-kept cave with indoor plumbing and fine electronic appliances, including the TV, the VCR, the DVD Player, the Computer with Internet connection, the refrigerator well-stocked with random body par...er, never mind the fridge.
And in this thouroughly modern cave lives a Bear. And this Bear looks like an ordinary Bear, except for her exceptionally bad taste in clothing. But never mind the paint-spattered cutoff jeans and the t-shirt proclaiming that "humans are strange, but tasty". Suffice to say that this is a civilized bear, with all the horror that might imply.
One day, the Bear decided that she should check her mailbox, for she had sent away for some nice things that she couldn't buy locally, as merchants have a strange aversion to allowing Bears in their stores. So the Bear put on some tasteless neon sneakers, set out three bowls of porridge on the snap-trap GoldiKiller<tm> brand table, and went for a nice walk.
And she walked, and she walked, and she walked, for it is very difficult to get mail carriers to deliver directly to the depths of Time and Space. So all civilized intergalatic Bears must keep post office boxes in town, in spite of the extra trouble and cost this entails.
And she walked, and she walked some more, because this Bear lived in what is properly referred to as the boondocks of Time and Space, and can not as yet afford a Segway<tm> to aid her travels.
And she walked, and she walked, and she...finally! Arrived at the Post Office.
There were great piles of mail in her box, for the Bear understandably fines the chore of mail pickup a little too tedious a task to do daily. But the badly-dressed Bear had thought ahead, and had brought with her a large sack to drag her mail home in. And though the mail filled the sack to overflowing, she managed to fit it all in.
And then she left the Post Office, and she walked, and she walked, and she...okay, let's skip the walk with the Bear this time. Taxi!
A long time later, the Bear returned home, just in time for lunch. So she left the mail sack by the door, and mixed the 2 1/2 bowls of cooled porridge with berries and Goldilocks (for the trap had worked well), and cooked it at 375degrees for 30 minutes. This allowed her enough time to sort out and throw away her junk mail, which reduced the mail pile to a very modest heap.
And in the real mail, there was a large, padded envelope.
And in the large, padded envelope, there were three comic books.
And in the 3 comic books, there were four Series 5 Galaxy Rangers.
And the Bear read the comics over a large bowl of Goldie stew and a glass of iced tea.
          And she was very happy.

And since the Bear is a modern Bear with a website, you can be happy too!
Issues 7, 8, & 9 of "The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers" by Marvel Comics UK, scanned for your reading pleasure.
It pays to check milehighcomics.com every so often....

After more than two years away, I'm back with new updates. The Evil Writing crew has moved to a new chat server, and all the fanfic from the past two years is slowly being added.

          Check out The Drabbles

Okay, it's about done. I'm sure I'll be fixing things for weeks. If you spot a broken picture or link, E-Mail me.
The most obvious change here is the addition of mouseover effects. Let me know what you think of it all. :) I've also moved the Sound Archive off of Crosswinds, and put it here. The links on the Links Page are still outdated. It will take some time for me to track everything down and test it properly.

The entire site is being rearranged and rewritten right now. The entire process will take literally hours to complete. The vast majority of the site is running, but certain pages, images, and links will be broken until this is completed. My apologies. I'll let you know when the work is done.

Much work is being done offline. New graphics, a new Nav Table, and a whole new layout is under construction. More soon...

3/9/00
Added Initiation by Ann Kniggendorf to the Archive.

2/20/00
Added links to betamountain.org on the main pages, contained in character cutout gifs. Started removing the text links in the Navagation Bars, and replaced them with alt text.
